To stop an ongoing Azure Backup Agent operation, you can use the Azure CLI command to suspend or terminate a currently running job. The command is as follows:

    az backup job stop --name <job-name> --resource-group <resource-group-name> --vault-name <vault-name>

Make sure to replace <job-name>, <resource-group-name>, and <vault-name> with the appropriate values for your environment. This command will help you stop the ongoing backup job.

    Hi stubbs R

Steps to stop Azure Backup Agent operations:

1)Open the MARS Management Console: Launch the Microsoft Azure Recovery Services (MARS) management console where you manage your backups.

    2)Navigate to Schedule Backup:

    Go to the Actions pane.

    Select Schedule Backup.

    3)Select Modify a Backup Schedule:

In the Select Policy Item page, choose Modify a backup schedule for your files and folders and click Next.

    4)Stop Scheduled Backup:

On the Modify or Stop a Scheduled Backup page, select Stop using this backup schedule, but keep the stored backups until a schedule is activated again. Click Next.

Review the information in the Pause Scheduled Backup section and select Finish.

5)Check Status: Confirm the pause status to ensure your backup schedule has been successfully stopped.

    Other options to stop backup:

If you want to delete the backup data as well:

    • Choose the option to Stop using this backup schedule and delete all the stored backups instead. You'll also need to provide a security PIN for this action.
