How do I fix my laptop from desktop mode to laptop mode

I’ve tried so many times on my ASUS Vivobook 14 to setup to Windows 11 Laptop mode, but it keeps on forcing me to signing up into a local account, and also forcing me to an Ethernet connection cable port, and now it feels like I am getting frustrated on this. I’ve cleared my drive from that srttrail.txt error as I’ve tried to fix it too, and now I am getting mad at it. I’ve tried everything to fix my Windows 11 issue into not signing in to a local account and for not getting my laptop into a desktop to an laptop, and now it feels like I am going to give up. Can anyone help me with the problem I am going with right now? Because I want to sign in back into my Microsoft account instead of a local account.

    Thanks for reacging out Joshua,

I understand how frustrating it is when things go wrong. After clearing the SRTTrail.txt error, Windows may be stuck in a setup state, defaulting to a local account and Ethernet since it may think it’s offline or in recovery. This usually occurs when the system boots into a minimal setup or the install wasn't completed properly.

Are you at the full Windows desktop or the initial setup (OOBE) screen? If you're in OOBE, connect to Wi-Fi and choose Sign in with Microsoft account, not Offline account. Check that Airplane Mode is off and the wireless adapter is active in Device Manager if Wi-Fi isn’t showing.

If you're already at the desktop with a local account, go to Settings > Accounts >Your info and pick Sign in with a Microsoft account instead. to proceed.

Lastly, is this a fresh Windows 11 install or a reset?

    Best,

    Rez

To switch your ASUS Vivobook 14 from desktop mode to laptop mode in Windows 11, and to sign in with your Microsoft account instead of a local account, follow these steps:

    1. Check Your Internet Connection: Ensure that your laptop is connected to the internet. You can use Wi-Fi instead of an Ethernet cable if you prefer.
    2. Sign In with Microsoft Account: When prompted to sign in, select the option to use a Microsoft account. If you're being forced to create a local account, look for an option that says something like "Sign in with Microsoft instead" or "Use a different account".
    3. Reset Your Device: If you continue to face issues, consider resetting your device. Go to Settings > System > Recovery and select Reset this PC. Choose to keep your files if you want to preserve your data.
    4. Check for Updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates. Sometimes, issues can be resolved with the latest updates.
    5. Use the Windows Recovery Environment: If the problem persists, you may need to access the Windows Recovery Environment. Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the F11 key (or the key specific to your device) to enter recovery mode. From there, you can troubleshoot further.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for more personalized assistance.
