Where can I find my browsing history? I had open tabs that were accidentally erased. How do I recover them?

To find your browsing history in Microsoft Edge, you can go to the History pane. If your browsing history was saved, you can access it by clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner of the browser, selecting "History," or simply pressing Ctrl + H on your keyboard. This will show you the list of websites you have visited.

If you had open tabs that were accidentally erased, you can recover them by using the "Recently closed" feature in the History pane. This allows you to reopen tabs that were closed during your browsing session.

Additionally, if you were using InPrivate browsing or Guest mode, the download history from those sessions is cleared when you close the respective windows, so any tabs opened in those modes cannot be recovered after closing.

To clear your browsing data, including your download history, you can go to edge://settings/clearBrowserData.

    Hi Bryan Hilton,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

I understand how frustrating it can be to lose open tabs unexpectedly. Most browsers have the same shortcut for History, which is Ctrl + H as per the AI Assist's suggestion above. If yours doesn't work the same, it'd be helpful if you can share the browser's name.

In addition to that, you can also try to reopen closed tabs after the accidental move. Simply press Ctrl + Shift + T (repeatedly) and the previous tabs would be opened in the same order they were closed.

If you cleared history and data, or the tabs were in Private/Incognito mode, they cannot be recovered. If you need to recover a specific page and remember part of its title or content, you can also try searching your history directly from the address bar by typing a relevant keyword.
