i have had no clue of what bitlock is untill today.

I opened my laptop (asus TUF a15 gaming laptop) this morning and it showed the bitlock screen. i followed the instructions and inputed my proper key from my microsoft account which correctly MATCHES my key ID. The prompt accepts my key as i hit continue but once i hit continue it says "couldn't connect to the network" and give me a 30 minute timer. so i am still locked of my computer

I have went through the advanced options and when i try to go through the windows repair option it says "automatic repair could not fix your pc Log file: C:|WINDOWS|System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt" and in the additional recovery information this is the error code that was prompted, "Error category and code: Initiated by user (E_FVE_USER_REQUESTED_RECOVERY)"

i also tried the option of "uninstall updates" and it let me uninstall the "latest quality update" but it did not work when i tried to "uninstall lastest feature update."

i need guidence on how to fix this issue so i can use my laptops for class ASAP.

It seems you are experiencing a BitLocker recovery issue on your ASUS TUF A15 gaming laptop. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve this problem:

    1. Check Network Connection: Since the error mentions "couldn't connect to the network," ensure that your laptop is connected to the internet. If you are using Wi-Fi, try connecting via an Ethernet cable if possible.
    2. Use Recovery Key: Since you have the correct BitLocker recovery key, ensure you are entering it correctly. If the key is accepted but the device still does not unlock, there may be an issue with the BitLocker configuration.
    3. Access Advanced Options: If you can access the Advanced Options from the recovery screen, try the following:
      • System Restore: If you have restore points created, you can try restoring your system to a previous state.
      • Startup Repair: Since you mentioned that automatic repair could not fix your PC, you might want to try it again after ensuring that your system is properly connected to the network.
      • Command Prompt: You can also access the Command Prompt from the Advanced Options and run commands such as chkdsk to check for disk errors or sfc /scannow to repair system files.
    4. Uninstall Updates: You've already attempted to uninstall the latest quality update, which is good. If the feature update is not uninstalling, it may indicate a deeper issue with the system.
    5. BitLocker Recovery Process: If self-recovery isn't working, you may need to contact your IT support or follow the procedures for retrieving recovery information securely, especially if your device is joined to a domain or managed by an organization.
    6. Consider a Reset: If all else fails, you may need to consider resetting your device using a recovery image. This will erase all data, so it should be a last resort if you cannot recover your system through other means.

If you continue to face issues, it might be beneficial to consult with a professional technician who can provide hands-on assistance.
