We have changer the Teams Rooms license one a MTR device from Basic to Pro. On the device it can see that it has a Pro license and gives us the extra features such as duel screen. In the portal under Rooms is still says Basic under license. In Planning under inventory it says unlicensed. How do we get this to update?

    Dear ALISTAIR STUBBS,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

I’m really sorry you’re experiencing this issue. I’ve reviewed Microsoft documentation and similar cases, and normally the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal updates the license type automatically after a change, but since it’s been over 72 hours and the portal still shows Basic under Rooms and Unlicensed under Planning, this indicates the sync process hasn’t completed as expected.

    Here’s what I recommend:

    • Sign out and sign back in on the device: On the MTR device, sign out of the resource account and then sign back in. This forces the device to re-register with the service. Wait a few minutes and check the portal again.
    • Verify license assignment in Microsoft 365 Admin Center: Confirm that the resource account used by the device has the Teams Rooms Pro license assigned and that the Basic license has been removed.

If the license still doesn’t update after these steps, your case likely requires deeper investigation on the backend. Microsoft Support can check the sync status and verify the license mapping for your tenant.

The Global Admin can create a support ticket by sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Support > Help & Support.

This will allow the engineering team to review and correct the issue.

For detailed instructions on how to get support, please refer to Get support - Microsoft 365 admin.

I hope this information helps point you in the right direction. If you run into any issues while trying the steps, or if something still doesn’t feel quite right, please don’t hesitate to reach out again. I’ll do my best to support you however I can.

Looking forward to hearing back from you with any updates or additional details.

    Warm regards,
