Having trouble mirroring to Ruko TV

I seem to connect to Ruko TV, but it does not complete the connection to display by PC screen. Both my laptop and the TV recognize each other, but the TV resets to the home screen without mirroring. I have turned off my firewall and VPN with the same results. I have also followed the already posted troubleshooting suggestions.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with connecting your PC to your Roku TV for screen mirroring. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can consider based on common issues related to Miracast connections:

    1. Check for Driver Updates: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause connection issues.
    2. Verify Network Connection: Make sure both your laptop and Roku TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. This is crucial for successful mirroring.
    3. Restart Devices: Restart both your laptop and Roku TV. This can help reset any temporary issues that may be affecting the connection.
    4. Check Miracast Support: Ensure that your laptop supports Miracast. You can check this by running the command dxdiag in the Run dialog (Win + R) and looking for Miracast support in the display tab.
    5. Disable Other Connections: If you have multiple display devices connected to your laptop, try disconnecting them to see if that resolves the issue.
    6. Firewall and Security Software: Although you've turned off your firewall and VPN, ensure that any other security software is not blocking the connection.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consult the Roku support documentation for additional troubleshooting specific to their devices.

Hi Jesse Frank, I can imagine how frustrating this must be—you’ve already tried the usual fixes, and finding out that Miracast isn’t supported makes it feel like you’ve hit a wall.

To fix Roku mirroring when Miracast is missing first check if your PC supports it by running netsh wlan show drivers. If it doesn’t your Wi-Fi adapter or graphics card lacks Miracast support. If it does but is disabled install the Wireless Display feature in Windows and restart then confirm with dxdiag. If your hardware can’t support Miracast at all use alternatives like AirParrot or LetsView for AirPlay connect via HDMI or use devices like Chromecast or Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. For media only apps like Plex or VLC work well. If problems persist reset your Roku’s network settings and reconnect.

When you checked with netsh wlan show drivers did it show Wireless Display as supported or not?

    Best regards
