I just had a MS tech support person fix my Outlook 365 to direct emails from my Sprintmail account to the correct inbox. However, I notice that the newly received & unread messages aren't showing up in a bold colored font as they were before. How can I fix this?

To make new or unread email messages appear in bold font in your Outlook inbox, you can check the following settings:

    1. View Settings: Ensure that your current view is set to show unread messages in bold. You can do this by going to the View tab in the ribbon, selecting View Settings, and then checking the Conditional Formatting settings.
      • Click on Conditional Formatting and make sure that the rule for unread messages is enabled and set to display in bold.
    2. Reset View: If the settings seem correct but the issue persists, you can try resetting the view. Go to the View tab, click on Reset View, and confirm the action. This will restore the default settings, which should include bold text for unread messages.
    3. Check for Updates: Sometimes, issues can arise from outdated software. Ensure that your Outlook 365 is up to date by checking for updates in the File menu under Office Account.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be worth checking with Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Hello Bob,

Thank you for reaching out about the issue with unread emails not appearing in bold in your Outlook inbox I understand how important it is to quickly identify new messages and I can imagine how frustrating it must feel when this feature isn’t working as expected. This usually happens when the view settings or formatting rules in Outlook are not configured correctly after changes to your account or inbox setup.

To resolve this you can review the Conditional Formatting settings in Outlook. Go to the View tab select View Settings and then click Conditional Formatting. Make sure the rule for unread messages is enabled and set to display in bold. If everything looks correct but the issue persists try resetting the view by selecting Reset View under the View tab. This restores the default layout which includes bold text for unread messages. Additionally ensure your Outlook is up to date by checking for updates under File select Office Account select Update Options as outdated versions can sometimes cause display issues.

I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back

    Regards,

    Marcelo
