My Xbox account has been flagged as a under 13 account when I am 16. The email it is linked to is, which has the correct birthday, 2009.

I have tried to fix this issue multiple times and it is not working and I cannot play any games on roblox even after allowing it from a parents account. How do I change this account to be over 13?

    Hi @Claudia Thorne

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Regarding your issue, the basic fixes (like changing the birthdate on your profile) only change the visible information, but the under-13 restriction often remains locked on the server side, which is what's blocking you on Roblox even with parental permission.

Here are a few steps you can try:

    • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/profile/ and sign in with your Xbox email.
    • Click "Edit profile info."
    • Select your birthday again (make sure it shows you are over 13) and save. You might need to pick your state too.
    • Open the Xbox app on your PC.
    • Click your profile picture in the top right and click "Sign out."
    • Close the Xbox app completely (right-click the Xbox icon in the system tray and choose "Quit").
    • Open the Xbox app again and sign back in.
    • If you still see the age error, wait 5-10 minutes and try closing and reopening the app again.
    • You can also restart your computer or uninstall and reinstall the Xbox app if needed (your games will stay installed).

If after all the above steps, you still get a consent loop or can't play Roblox, this means the flag is permanently stuck and I highly suggest contacting Xbox for help. This is the most definitive solution for a stuck account.

    • Go to https://support.xbox.com, choose your region, and click "Contact us."
    • Be ready to provide your Microsoft email and proof of birthdate if asked and mention the troubleshooting steps you already tried.

Aas forum moderators, we don’t have access to the detailed system needed to troubleshoot this effectively due to privacy and security constraints. To quickly resolve this and regain access, the most effective step is to contact Xbox support. Only they have the ability to help with your issue.

Hopefully it will help work with your issue and if you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
