To troubleshoot the issue, you can try the steps below:

Step 1: Ensure you are using a legitimate, up-to-date version of MSFS 2024.

Step 2: Check if the error is caused by incompatible addons/mods.

• After the game crashes to desktop (CTD), close the game completely.
• Wait a few seconds to make sure all related processes have stopped.
• When you reopen the game, you will see the option Safe Mode → select Safe Mode.
• Safe Mode will disable all addons in the Community folder.
• Check:
• If the game runs fine in Safe Mode → the issue is caused by addons.
  • Solution: Delete or update the addons/mods in the Community folder.

Step 3: Uninstall / Reinstall

• Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps > find Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) > click the three dots and select Uninstall.
• Delete leftover data in:
  • C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Packages
    • or C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common.
    • Reinstall the game: Download again from the official source (Microsoft Store).
    • After reinstalling, run the game for the first time without restoring the Community folder.

Other method you can try:

Install MSFS 2024 on another computer and start it once. After that, it started working on the original computer too — the issue was a cloud sync error.
