Unable to Recover My Locked Account – Verification Method Not Working

Dear Microsoft Support Team,

My Microsoft account (****<Mod remove PII> @hotmail.com) has been locked, and whenever I try to recover it, I receive this message:

“Enter your phone number, and we'll send you a security code.” But when I enter my phone number, I get this error message: “That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method.”

The problem is that no other verification methods appear, even though I previously added two recovery emails:

@yahoo.com
@gmail.com

I also tried using the ACSR recovery form at https://account.live.com/acsr, but the recovery attempt was unsuccessful.

I urgently need access to this account because it contains important personal and professional information. Please help me unlock my account or provide an alternative verification method.

Account Details:

Phone number on file: I have added it
Recovery emails: I have added it

Location: Egypt

This forum is not Microsoft support; it is a form of users' mutual support. Forum members have not an access to your account so may give recommendations only.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to recover access to your account without filling a form with as many data as possible. Microsoft needs many enough information to confidently match you and your account.

Please strain your memory and give as much data as possible. Many scammers try to hack someone else's account so Microsoft just cannot take anyone at their word.

Thank you for your response. I fully understand that this forum is user-to-user support, and that Microsoft cannot access or verify my account directly.

The problem is that I did try the official recovery process. I followed the link you provided (https://support.microsoft.com/contactus), but I could not find the correct form for Account & Sign-in Issues → Hotmail/Outlook.com → Contact Support. Every time I try to recover my account using the phone verification step, I receive this message:

“That verification method isn’t working right now. Please try another method.”

I also tried the ACSR recovery form, but it keeps redirecting me back to the same step and does not give me any alternative verification options, even though I added two backup emails.

So at this point, I am unable to access:

The phone verification method

The alternate recovery form

The support category specific to Outlook/Hotmail

If you have a direct link to the Hotmail/Outlook.com account-recovery support form, or any other way to reach Microsoft’s identity verification team, I would sincerely appreciate it.

Hi Igor,

I am hoping you can help me, or direct me in the right direction. I am currently locked out from using my business account that I have signed up to use for Visio. It is the only reason why I have this account and I cannot sign in to use it. I have tried calling 1-800-865-9408. I answer all of the AI automated questions and it does not allow me to speak with anybody. I dont get the MFA authentications to my phone because my old phone is no longer useable and my new phone does not have the authentication set up. I tried following the email recovery you posted above but it says my email does not exist. I know very well it does. Can you please assist me?
