It’s definitely inconvenient to see a spinning circle or an error message instead of being able to share your files as expected.
This issue often occurs due to temporary connectivity problems, outdated Office components or interference from add-ins. To resolve this try accessing the file directly from OneDrive on the web and check if sharing works there. If it does the problem may be with the desktop app you can start Word in Safe Mode to rule out add-in conflicts and if that doesn’t help repair your Office installation using the steps in Repair an Office application.
Could you confirm if sharing works when you use OneDrive in a web browser? Also are you seeing this issue in other Office apps like Excel or PowerPoint?
