Move to option in inbox not allowing typed search without clicking a second time first

Prior to the most recent update, when I had multiple emails selected and wanted to move them all from the inbox to another folder, I could click on the "Move to" button on the top toolbar and start typing to search for the name of the folder location where I wanted to move the items.

Now, after selecting the emails and clicking on the Move to button, I have to click again into the "Search for a folder" field at the top. This seems minimal, but it is adding time to my routine by adding in all of these additional clicks each day.

Is there a setting that I can change or another way of doing this that is more efficient?

    Hi M,

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand how annoying it is when a simple thing like moving emails suddenly takes extra steps, This change happened because of a recent Outlook update. Now, when you go to move something, you have to click in the search box before you can start typing. I am here to help.

They did this as part of some UI tweaks, and right now, there’s no way to go back to how it was before. I suggest suggest using shortcuts or other ways to get around it. For example, you can hit Ctrl+Shift+V (on Windows) or Cmd+Shift+M (on Mac) to move stuff, then type the folder name right away. quick way is to add your go-to folders to Favorites so you don't have to spend so much time clicking around.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Noel
