Hey, yesterday (December 4, 2025), everything was working perfectly fine with Microsoft Edge. The Copilot chat in the sidebar panel used to greet me by my name (William), which meant I was properly logged in with my personal Microsoft account. But after I updated to the latest Edge version, now it just says a generic "Hey, nice to see you, what's new?" like it doesn't recognize me at all.

I want to know what's going on and how to fix it. When I try to paste a screenshot or image into the chat, it prompts me to "Sign in," but when I click the Sign In button, it's completely frozen, it doesn't redirect me anywhere, doesn't do anything, and just stays unresponsive. The "Maybe later" option works, but that's not helpful. I've tried restarting Edge, clearing cache, and logging out/in, but nothing changes. Any ideas on a quick fix, or if this is a known bug from the recent update? Thanks!

I don't even see my previous conversation, meaning that I am not logged on, because it won't let me

Thanks for sharing the details. Are you signed in to Edge with your Microsoft account under Settings then Profiles?

Please check your profile sign in, turn on Sync for personalization, then go to Settings then Sidebar then Copilot to confirm your account shows there. If the Sign In button in the sidebar still freezes after you restart Edge, this matches a known issue from the latest update so keeping Edge updated and signed in will restore your conversations once the fix arrives.
