Changed motherboard and cpu on computer with the original windows install. Now they are telling me it is a different computer. How do I get them to recognize my original install on same computer?

I have done all of the things which you recommended and they still will not reactivate my Windows 11 install. 0x004C008 error code.

    Hi ,

If you replaced the motherboard and processor, and the Windows activation came with the computer, it's an OEM license tied to the hardware. If you replaced it with a different one than before, the hardware isn't the same, unfortunately you have to buy a new license.

Because OEM licenses are not transferable, they are tied to the hardware. To migrate, you would need an FPP (retail) license.

Give feedback if the information was useful or not.

    Thanks
