If you are unable to open your Outlook email account from your iPhone or laptop, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some common troubleshooting steps you can take:

    1. Check Your Internet Connection: Ensure that your device is connected to the internet. A weak or unstable connection can prevent Outlook from loading.
    2. Update Outlook: Make sure that your Outlook application is up to date. Outdated software can lead to connectivity issues.
    3. Check for Service Issues: If multiple users in your organization are experiencing similar issues, it may be due to a service outage. You can check the Microsoft 365 Service health status for any known issues.
    4. Run Microsoft Diagnostics: You can use the Microsoft 365 diagnostic tools to troubleshoot connectivity issues. This may help identify and resolve the problem automatically.
    5. TLS Settings: If you are using an older version of Exchange Server or Windows Server that supports TLS 1.0 or 1.1, you may encounter issues as these protocols are deprecated. Ensure that your environment is using TLS 1.2 or later.
    6. Check Your Account Credentials: Make sure that you are entering the correct email address and password. If you have recently changed your password, update it in your Outlook settings.
    7. Profile Issues: Corrupted Outlook profiles can also cause problems. Consider creating a new profile to see if that resolves the issue.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Dear @Linda Dixon,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand you’re having trouble opening your Outlook email account on both your iPhone and your laptop, and this has been happening for some time.

To better assistance, could you please confirm following information:

Is this a business (work/school) account which provide by your organization or a personal Outlook account (Outlook, Hotmail...)?

Are you able to sign in to your account at https://outlook.live.com/ or https://login.microsoftonline.com/?

Do you see any error messages when trying to sign in on your devices?

Have you recently changed your password or security settings?

Are you using the Outlook app on your iPhone or the built-in Mail app?

Is your laptop running the latest version of Windows and Outlook?

In the meantime, I recommend some steps below:

    1/ Check Account Access

Try to access https://outlook.live.com (for personal accounts) or https://login.microsoftonline.com (for business accounts).

    2/ Update Apps and Devices

    • On iPhone: Open the App Store, search for Microsoft Outlook, and tap Update if available.
    • On Laptop: Open any Office app, go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
    • For Windows, go to Settings > Windows Update and install all updates.

3/ Restart and reinstall your iPhone and laptop

    • On iPhone: Press and hold the Outlook app icon, select Remove App, then reinstall it from the App Store.
    • On Laptop: If Outlook still fails, consider repairing Office (Settings > Apps > Installed app > Microsoft 365 > Advanced Option > Repair or Reset).

    4/ Remove and Re-add Account

    On iPhone (Outlook App):

    • Open Outlook, go to Settings > Accounts, select your account, and tap Manage >Remove Account.
    • Tap Add Account, enter your email and password, and complete setup.

    On Laptop:

    • In Outlook, go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings, select your account > Manage > Remove.
    • Click Add, enter your credentials, and finish setup.

Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
