Please note I am not the organizer of the meeting.
The Chat conversations have different topics answered in a nested conversation

Dear @Padmarajan, Anand,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on your description, I understand that you want to export the chat conversation from a Teams meeting you attended, but you’re not the organizer, and the chat includes nested (threaded) replies.
However, in this case, there isn’t a built‑in “Export chat” button for non‑organizers in Teams meeting chats. For official exports (complete, tamper‑evident copies for audit/compliance), your tenant admin (or someone with appropriate compliance/eDiscovery roles) must perform the export via Microsoft 365 Compliance Center or eDiscovery.
In the meantime, you can still produce a clean, readable archive yourself that preserves threads and timestamps, suitable for reference and sharing. here are some options I recommend you try:
Option 1: Manual Export (no admin required)
Step 1: Open the meeting chat in Teams web > Switch to compact view (reduces whitespace so export is cleaner) by going to Settings > Chats and Channels > Chat: Message Density: Compact.
Step 2: Expand threads you care about: For messages with replies, click “x replies” to expand nested conversations.
Step 3: Export via Print to PDF by Pressing Ctrl+P (on Windows) > In Printer, choose Save as PDF > Set Scale to fit content (90–100%), enable Background graphics if available (for better structure), then Save.
For reference: Save or export a chat
Option 2: Official Export (Ask your IT admin to run a Content Search or eDiscovery export)
If you need a complete, tamper‑evident copy, please contact your organization’s IT admin or compliance team. They can use Microsoft 365 Compliance Center > Content Search or eDiscovery to export the full chat history, including nested replies and timestamps. For reference: Getting started with the new Purview Content Search
Option 3: Ask the Organizer
If the organizer or a co‑presenter already captured notes/transcripts or copied the chat, they can share a consolidated document. This is informal, but often quickest.
Moreover, I totally agree that having an easy way to export meeting chat conversations, especially with nested replies, is an important feature for many users. It helps with documentation, compliance, and collaboration after meetings, and we understand how valuable this would be. Therefore, your feedback is crucial in shaping future improvements. I strongly encourage you to share this suggestion directly with the Microsoft product team through the Feedback portal in Teams: Settings and more (...) > Give feedback or visit https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com, where our product development team can know your requirements and ideas for product improvements. If enough users raise ticket for the same idea, Microsoft may consider adding this feature in the future.
