Hello,

I am attempting to migrate my Microsoft 365 email from Godaddy directly to Microsoft. When I sign in to Microsoft it requests the email address then the password. It then asks to enter a code from the Microsoft Authenticator app on mobile device. When I try to add email account on Authenticator app it asks for a code again. The email is set up as a Microsoft Entra ID. I cannot get passed this point. It circles me back to a code request. Does Microsoft need to remove authentication for this account? If so how do I actually talk to a human to do this? Or email? Chat?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

John

It sounds like you're experiencing a loop with the Microsoft Authenticator app during your migration process. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Multiple Attempts: Ensure that you attempt to enter the code from the Authenticator app multiple times. Sometimes, it may take a few tries to get through.
    2. Check App Configuration: Make sure that the Microsoft Authenticator app is properly set up with your account. If you are unable to add the email account to the app, it may be necessary to reset the MFA settings for your account.
    3. Contact Support: If you continue to have issues, you may need to contact Microsoft support for assistance. Since you are looking to speak with a human, you can reach out to the Microsoft 365 Data Protection team or find the support phone number for your region at the Microsoft 365 admin center. They can help you with resetting your authentication settings or troubleshooting further.
    4. Consider Alternative Verification Methods: If you have configured multiple verification methods, try using a different method to sign in, if available.

If none of these steps resolve your issue, contacting support directly will be the best course of action to get your account resolved.
