Microsoft 365/Office issue. I am switching computers and although my longtime verizon.net account (managed by AOL) is up and working fine in Outlook on my old laptop, I have been totally unable to add it to Outlook on my new one. The "add an account" protocol does not list AOL as a provider, so you can't get in that way. I've tried using the AOL IMAP and POP3 server settings, that doesn't work either. I had no trouble generating an App password from the AOL site, but the Outlook options don't ever get to the point where I would insert it. How does one add an AOL account to Outlook?

Hi. I'm Brian and I'll try to help.

Actually, Verizon uses Yahoo. AOL farmed out its mail to Yahoo. You should be able to add a Verizon/AOL/Yahoo account to Outlook by creating a new account and specifying the address and password. Here's an article that describes what to do https://support.microsoft.com/office/6e27792a-9267-4aa4-8bb6-c84ef146101b. This is an article is referenced by the AOL web site here: http://help.aol.com/articles/how-do-i-set-up-other-email-applications-to-send-and-receive-my-verizon-net-mail

If this does not work, please return here and state which version of Outlook you are using, exactly what you are doing and exactly what happens when you do it. If you receive an error message, please include it here exactly as it appears on your screen.
