If you're unable to access your Microsoft account after getting a new phone and cannot reset your password via Microsoft security, you can try the following steps:

    1. Use Alternative Verification Methods: If you have set up other options for security verification, select Other verification options when prompted during the sign-in process. This may allow you to use a different method to verify your identity.
    2. Contact Another Admin: If you are part of an organization and there are other admins available, ask them to help reset your password or verify your account settings.
    3. Check Your User Settings: If you regain access, ensure that your mobile phone number is correctly set in your user account settings. This is important for future password resets.
    4. Contact Support: If none of the above options work, you may need to contact Microsoft Support for further assistance. They can help you regain access to your account.

Make sure to have any relevant information ready when contacting support to expedite the process.

Hello, I’m Virginia a fellow Windows user.

You won’t be able to access the account without the old phone/authentication method unless you either have an alternative method added, have the backup/recovery code shown during 2fa setup or you have a device on which you’re still logged in in order to add/change the 2fa method.
