Copilot is not letting me generate images on my PC. Only my iPad and Android phone.

For several days now, I have been trying to generate images in Copilot on my Windows 11 PC. It tells me that I've reached my limit for the day even though I haven't created anything and it pops up a link to sign in that is totally dead. It doesn't go anywhere. I've tried every suggested solution, and it just isn't working.

It seems you are experiencing issues with generating images in Copilot on your Windows 11 PC. The message indicating that you've reached your limit for the day, despite not creating anything, could be due to several factors. Here are some potential causes and solutions:

    1. Account Limitations: Ensure that your account is not subject to any daily limits for image generation. Sometimes, limits can be applied based on account type or usage patterns.
    2. Sign-In Issues: The dead link for signing in might indicate a problem with your account authentication. Try signing out and then signing back in to refresh your session.
    3. Network Connectivity: Check your internet connection to ensure that it is stable and that there are no interruptions that might affect the service.
    4. Software Updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 and any related applications are fully updated, as updates can fix bugs and improve functionality.
    5. Device-Specific Issues: Since you mentioned that it works on your iPad and Android phone, there might be device-specific settings or permissions that need to be adjusted on your PC.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Hi Debbie Anderson,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum and sharing about the trouble you’re having with Copilot image generation on your Windows 11 PC. I can imagine how frustrating this must be, especially when you’ve tried several fixes and still can’t create images.

To help us get this resolved quickly, could you share when you first noticed the issue? Was it just recently after any changes or has it been ongoing for a while?

Also, have you had a chance to clear the Microsoft Edge cache and cookies yet? This step often helps with sign-in and session validation problems. If not, here’s how you can do it:

    • Open Edge Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data > Select "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" then click Clear now.

*Disclaimer: Your browser automatically saves temporary internet files to help pages load faster. Clearing this cache will sometimes fix website issues. Please back up all your personal files first, such as Favorites, to ensure you do not lose data.

If you’ve already tried that and the issue persists, please let me know.

I've tried all of that. Clearning cache...signing out and back in, etc.. It started happening right after the last update to Edge.

    Hi Debbie Anderson,

Thank you for sharing the details so clearly. I know it’s been challenging so far and thank you for your persistence.

Here are some additional steps that should bring us closer to a solution:

    • Reset Microsoft Edge: Go to Settings > Reset Settings > Restore settings to their default values. This clears any corrupted configurations that may block Copilot.
    • Create a New Edge Profile: Click your profile icon in Edge > Set up new personal profile, then sign in with your Microsoft account. A fresh profile helps eliminate sync or token issues.
    • Perform an In-Place Upgrade of Windows 11: Download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant from Microsoft’s official site. Choose Upgrade this PC now to refresh system components without losing your files or apps.

*Disclaimer: Let’s try performing an in-place install or in-place upgrade which will refresh your Windows files and operating system without removing files or applications. That being said, we always recommend that if you have important data, you should back it up before making large system changes. If you want to back up your data first, please do so. Once you are done backing up, you can follow the steps in the following guides: How to run In-place upgrade in Windows 11 - Microsoft Q&A

If these steps don’t resolve the problem, my next suggestion is to contact the Microsoft Support team for advanced troubleshooting. They can run diagnostic tools and provide a more tailored solution.

In case you have additional questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out. I'll be glad to help.
