You cannot uninstall the Windows Security app, but you can disable its interface on Windows Server 2016 or hide all sections on client computers. If you want to disable Microsoft Defender Antivirus, you can do so if needed. However, keep in mind that disabling the Windows Security app or its features can lead to stale or inaccurate information about antivirus or firewall products, which may lower the protection level of your device and could lead to malware infection.

If you wish to hide notifications or customize the settings, you can also explore options within the Windows Security app itself.

    Hello there Pir,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand the need to disable the windows security app. It is built into Windows and cannot be fully removed. You may disable the real time protection or the app but it is not recommended. As it may expose your system, your information/dat/files to risks such as malware infections and such.

Here are your options if you really wanted to turn it off.

    1. Turn off real-time protection Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Manage settings. Switch off Real-time protection. Note: It will turn back on after a restart for safety.
    2. Disable notifications In Settings > System > Notifications & actions, find Windows Security and turn off notifications.
    3. Use Group Policy or Registry (advanced) If you want to stop it permanently, you can disable Windows Defender via Group Policy or Registry, but this is risky and not recommended unless you have another antivirus installed.

    Hope it helps.

    Best,

    Rez

Group Policy is only available in higher-tier editions of Windows, such as Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate. The Home Edition does not include the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc).
