I was trying to lock my (example: stolen laptop) and already logged in to my microsoft account from my phone and I can see the location of my laptop in the map when I press find device but no LOCK option comes next to find my device, what to do? I saw in many forums and youtube vids that they get the lock option beside Find my device option. Can anyone please tell me what am I missing here. My location service and everything necessary is activated. Thanks

If you are unable to see the "Lock" option next to the "Find my device" feature for your stolen laptop, there could be a few reasons for this issue:

    1. Device Compatibility: Not all devices support the lock feature. Ensure that your laptop is compatible with the locking functionality. Some devices may only support locating but not locking.
    2. Device Supervision: The lock option may only be available for supervised devices. If your laptop is not set up as a supervised device, you might not see the lock option.
    3. Account Permissions: Check if you are logged into the correct Microsoft account that has the necessary permissions to manage the device. Sometimes, being logged into a different account can limit the options available.
    4. Service Availability: Ensure that the device is online and connected to the internet. If the device is offline, certain features may not be available.
    5. Settings and Configuration: Double-check the settings on your laptop to ensure that location services and device management features are properly configured and enabled.

If you've verified all these aspects and still do not see the lock option, you may want to consult Microsoft support for further assistance.
