Dear Gene West,Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.
You could try the following steps to resolve this issue:
- Manually delete the old service:
- Close the stuck installer (End Task via Task Manager).
- Go to Start, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
- Run this command:
sc stop UltraViewer_ServiceNote: It might say "The service has not been started" or "OpenService FAILED". That is fine. - Continue to run this command:
sc delete UltraViewer_ServiceNote: If that doesn't work, try to runsc delete UltraViewer - If you get a [SC] DeleteService SUCCESS message, you are clear.
- Restart your computer and run the installer again.
- Clean the installation folder:
- Open File Explorer.
- Navigate to
C:\Program Files (x86)\UltraViewer(or justProgram Filesif you are on 32-bit). - Delete the entire
UltraViewerfolder.
Then go to UltraViewer official download page and try to download again. You can also temporarily use Portable version.
