Dear Gene West,Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

You could try the following steps to resolve this issue:

    1. Manually delete the old service:
      • Close the stuck installer (End Task via Task Manager).
      • Go to Start, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
      • Run this command: sc stop UltraViewer_Service Note: It might say "The service has not been started" or "OpenService FAILED". That is fine.
      • Continue to run this command: sc delete UltraViewer_Service Note: If that doesn't work, try to run sc delete UltraViewer
      • If you get a [SC] DeleteService SUCCESS message, you are clear.
      • Restart your computer and run the installer again.
    2. Clean the installation folder:
      • Open File Explorer.
      • Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\UltraViewer (or just Program Files if you are on 32-bit).
      • Delete the entire UltraViewer folder.

Then go to UltraViewer official download page and try to download again. You can also temporarily use Portable version.

If the provided solution does not resolve the issue, please let me know so I can conduct further research to assist you.

    Hi Gene West,

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear the previous steps didn't fully resolve the issue.

You could try creating a new local admin to test:

    1. Go to Settings > Accounts > Other users.
    2. Click Add account.
    3. Crucial Step: Click "I don't have this person's sign-in information" and then select "Add a user without a Microsoft account."
    4. Name the user "Test" (no password needed) and click Next.
    5. Once created, click on the "Test" account name and select Change account type.
    6. Change it from "Standard User" to "Administrator" and click OK.

Then, sign in the new local admin user then try to install UltraViewer again.

Please let me know if these steps could help.
