Web Camera malfunction during Google meet call

I need help with my external camera issue when using Google Meet. It only works for the first 2 minutes. After that, an error prompt shows then I can't use it anymore. I'm using Windows 10 Pro.

There's no issue when I'm using MS Teams, Zoom, or Messenger call. It only happens with Google Meet. I tried turning Hardware Acceleration On but to no avail.

What might be the problem?

It seems that your external camera is functioning properly with other applications like MS Teams, Zoom, and Messenger, but is experiencing issues specifically with Google Meet. Here are a few potential reasons and troubleshooting steps you can consider:

    1. Camera Configuration: Ensure that the camera is not being used by another application while you are trying to access it in Google Meet. If another application is using the camera, it may cause conflicts.
    2. Network Bandwidth: If your camera freezes or drops frames during the Google Meet call, it might be due to network bandwidth issues. Ensure that your internet connection is stable and that no other applications are consuming excessive bandwidth during the call.
    3. Browser Permissions: Check if Google Meet has the necessary permissions to access your camera in your browser settings. Sometimes, browsers might block camera access for specific sites.
    4. Browser Compatibility: Make sure you are using a compatible browser for Google Meet. Chrome is generally recommended for the best experience with Google Meet.
    5. Hardware Acceleration: Since you mentioned trying to turn Hardware Acceleration on, you might also want to try turning it off if you haven't already, as sometimes this can cause issues with video calls.
    6. Camera Drivers: Ensure that your camera drivers are up to date. You can check for updates through the Device Manager in Windows.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Google Meet support or checking their help resources for more specific troubleshooting related to their platform.
