Hello.

I'm using Windows 11 Home, but System32 is 7.17 GB, is that normal? Can someone who knows help me? (I should also mention that my disk has exactly 410 SRAM errors, and even running chkdsk C: /scan /perf twice increases the number of SRAM errors by 2.)

7.17GB is actually small for the System32 folder on a Windows 11 system, have you deleted data from that folder?

Please provide a screenshot of where you are seeing SRAM errors, are you sure they are related to your drive.

Hello, this isn't related to the drive. My hard drive is a Crucial P3, and I've noticed it's corrupted; yes, there's no solution other than buying a new drive because its controller is no longer working. The SMART data shows a 410 SRAM error (by SRAM error, I mean the SSD's cache).

And the component store is corrupted (solely because of the drive, due to the normal background startcomponentcleanup process, but the fault is entirely my drive's, and I've even seen it corrupted in the registry).

Also, Copilot AI says that 7GB of system32 is too large and corrupted. And I should mention that I didn't corrupt system32 myself. And in many of my Windows 11 installations (original, by the way, retail license and desktop system, not OEM), system32 always starts at around 6-7 GB. There are a lot of errors in the error logs (CBS.log is full of packet errors, yes, my disk is really malfunctioning because of the controller).

The reason I'm asking this is to find out if the problem is with the disk or normal if the system32 file is still 7GB when I get a new disk.

Sorry, I was not notified you had replied, this forum is a bit strange, please use the Comment section on my replies.

With regards to what Copilot indicates about the size of System32 folder, that is completely incorrect, that folder contains most of the Windows system executable, along with the Driver database and many other Windows system components.

If you think there is a problem with your drive, download the widely available free CrystalDiskInfo utility, please provide a screenshot of what that indicates for your drive.
