When I reply to an email and send the message, it remains in draft (New Outlook for Windows)

I am using New Outlook, my email account is with Gmail ([mod: PII redacted]@gmail.com)

When I reply to an email it is marked as Draft and remains in that condition forever. I "think" they are really being sent. However, if I originate an email and send it, this issue does not happen.

I use an iPhone and the email app on it is also synced up with Gmail.

The Undo Send is not enabled and the time to send set to 0. I have tried to Repair and reset the Outlook client, with no positive results.

What else should I do.

Hi! Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Have you tried removing the account from the Outlook app and then adding it again?

    1. Open Gmail on the web (mail.google.com).
    2. Search for the subject of one of the “stuck” replies.
    3. Check Sent and also All Mail. If you find the message in Sent/All Mail, then it was sent and this is a New Outlook/Gmail sync/state bug.

It seems like you are experiencing an issue where replies to emails in Outlook are being saved as drafts instead of being sent. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Send/Receive Settings: Ensure that the "Send immediately when connected" option is enabled in your Outlook settings. This can sometimes prevent emails from being sent automatically.
      • For Outlook 2010 and later: Go to File > Options > Advanced > Send and receive section, and ensure the option is checked.
      • For Outlook 2007 and earlier: Go to Tools > Options > Mail Setup tab, and check the same option.
    2. Check for Conflicting Accounts: If you have multiple accounts configured in Outlook (like a Google Apps Sync account alongside an Exchange account), it can cause issues. Make sure you are not mixing account types in the same profile.
    3. Update Outlook: Ensure that your Outlook client is up to date. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in newer versions.
    4. Test with a Different Profile: Create a new Outlook profile and configure your Gmail account there to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with your current profile.
    5. Check for Add-ins: Sometimes, third-party add-ins can interfere with sending emails. Disable any unnecessary add-ins and test again.
    6. Repair Outlook: Since you mentioned you have already tried repairing Outlook, ensure that you are using the correct repair option (Quick Repair vs. Online Repair).

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
