I cannot pay for my monthly subscription for Office 365. My card has expired and since I have updated it, it is not accepting the payment from this card. I have tried other cards but nothing is working now.

If you are unable to pay for your Office 365 subscription due to issues with your payment methods, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

    1. Check Card Details: Ensure that the new card details you entered (card number, expiration date, name, and billing address) match exactly with what is on the card and your bank statement.
    2. Sufficient Funds: Make sure that the card you are trying to use has sufficient funds available to cover the subscription cost.
    3. Country/Region Restrictions: Verify that the payment method you are using is issued from the same country/region as your Microsoft account. Payment methods from different countries may not be accepted.
    4. Contact Your Bank: If you continue to face issues, it may be beneficial to contact your bank or card issuer to ensure there are no restrictions on your card, such as international transaction blocks or the card being inactive.
    5. Prepaid and Virtual Cards: Remember that prepaid cards, stored value cards, and virtual cards are not accepted as valid payment methods for Microsoft subscriptions.

If you have tried all these steps and are still unable to make the payment, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Hello Vimul Ramprogus,

Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Q&A forum

I understand you’re unable to pay for your Microsoft 365 subscription because your updated card, and even other cards are not being accepted.

Here are a few things you can try:

    A. Check the payment method settings

    1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments.
    2. Make sure the new card shows the correct billing address, expiry date, and CVV.
    3. Remove the old card completely, then add the new one again.

    B. Confirm the bank isn’t blocking the charge

Sometimes banks block subscription or international transactions. Ask the user to:

    • Contact their bank and confirm the card allows online, international, and recurring payments.
    • Check for any declined transactions.

    C. Try paying the invoice manually

    1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders.
    2. Find the failed Microsoft 365 subscription order.
    3. Choose Pay now with the updated card.

    D. Other possible causes

    • Using a business or prepaid card not supported for personal Microsoft 365 subscriptions.
    • Region mismatch between the card’s country and the Microsoft account region.

If nothing works, contact Microsoft Support so they can check the backend payment logs: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

Let me know how it goes.
