Meeting invite accepted but shows “None” in tracking

I sent a meeting invite to about 10 people. Some of them accepted the meeting, while others either didn’t respond or accepted it but I didn’t receive their response. However, when I open the meeting and check the tracking, it shows “None” as accepted.

could someone please help here?Untitled

    Hi @Ujwalpoudel,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A, and thank you so much for your response.

Based on your description, may I confirm whether the attendee who shows as None in tracking is the same person who accepted the meeting but chose not to send a response?

From my testing and research, when a user accepts a meeting invite, Outlook presents three options:

    Edit the Response Before Sending

    Send the Response Now

    Do Not Send a Response

    User's image

From my observation, if the user chooses "Do not Send a Response", even when the user accepted the meeting, Outlook unable to receive the notification that the user has accepted the meeting, hence the None status.

For example, I tested two scenarios, one where user accept and send the response, and one that accept the meeting, but did not send a response:

Send the Response Now > Tracking shows Accepted.

    User's image

Do Not Send a Response > Tracking shows None, despite the user accepted the meeting invite.

    User's image

Since this behavior is reproducible on my end, it suggests that what you're seeing is expected by design if the attendee accepts but chooses not to send a response.

As a possible workaround, you can adjust Outlook’s tracking behavior under: File > Options > Mail > Tracking.

The highlighted option allows Outlook to automatically delete empty meeting responses after they are processed, helping keep your inbox clean without losing tracking information. Note that the user is still required to select Send the Response Now when accepting the meeting.

Additionally, if possible, the user can switch to the New Outlook. From my testing, in New Outlook, users can accept a meeting without sending an email notification, and the organizer will still see the attendee’s status as Accepted in the Tracking tab.

I also found a relevant Microsoft Feedback thread describing the same behavior you’re experiencing. I recommend reviewing the feedback, upvoting it, and adding your comments there. The more voice is heard, the more likely that Microsoft prioritize your request and address this scenario in future updates.

    I hope this helps.
