Dear friends,

Microsoft account so complex, I was in a case:

I signed in using my personal email, then created an account and buy a visio subscription, at that time, I input my previous company name and it automatically created an microsoft for business account with something on.microsoft.com or something like that. I don't remember exactly.

Then now I have already resigned and it keeps charging me USD5 a month.

How to cancel this? I've tried to signed in but microsoft keeps saying that needs to be a microsoft for business.

Thank you for your support.

To cancel your Microsoft 365 subscription after resigning from your previous company, you will need to access the Microsoft 365 admin center using the business account credentials associated with your subscription. Here are the steps to follow:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center: Use the email address linked to your business account to log in.
    2. Access Subscriptions: If you're in the Simplified view, click on Subscriptions. In the Dashboard view, navigate to Billing > Your products.
    3. Select the Subscription: Locate the Visio subscription that you wish to cancel.
    4. Cancel the Subscription: On the subscription details page, find the option labeled Cancel subscription and follow the prompts to complete the cancellation process.

If you're having trouble signing in or lack the required permissions, it may be necessary to reach out to Microsoft support for help with canceling the subscription.

Additionally, ensure that you back up any important data before the cancellation takes effect, as you will lose access to your data once the subscription is canceled.

Cannot sign in to the Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center because don't remember the business auto generated email account. I first sign in using my personal microsoft account, then, as I want to buy the subscription from visio, I clicked purchase plan, then purchased. During that, microsoft auto generated email for me, and now I don't remember that account.

    Dear @Nguyen Thong Le,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand how frustrating repeated attempts can be, and I appreciate your patience.

If you’ve already resigned and cannot call our support line again, here are the quickest ways to cancel your Microsoft 365 subscription.

As a member of the community support team, access to or ability to make changes to your administrator account is restricted. For security and privacy reasons, only the dedicated Microsoft support team has the necessary tools and authority to assist with billing issues.

Scenario 1: In case you are the Global Administrator and have another Global Admin in your organization. Please ask them to follow the step in the instruction above to cancel subscriptions.

Scenario 2: In case you are the only Global Administrator and you are completely locked out from the tenant.

Option 1: Contact Microsoft Support by Phone

You might need to contact us via phone service number: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support. The agent will be able to create a ticket for you under the affected tenant and then transfer this ticket to Billing team who could help you to regain access.

To help you navigate the automated phone system (IVR), here’s an example of how the conversation might go:

    • IVR: What kind of problem are you concerned about?  You: Billing issue
    • IVR: What kind of product do you use?  You: Office 365 for business
    • IVR: Education or business account?  You: For business
    • IVR: Are you an administrator?  You: Yes
    • IVR: Do you have another administrator in your organization?  You: No
    • IVR: Do you need a service request?  You: Yes

This should help you get connected to a live support agent who can assist you directly.

Option 2: Create a temporary tenant to submit a support ticket

Important: Please remember to cancel the trial subscription once your issue is resolved to avoid any charges.

If your organization's Office 365 Business/Education subscription is from a partner or reseller, and the global administrator is unable to open a service request on your end, contact the reseller's support provider to help open a service request on behalf of you instead.

I hope the above information is clear. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please let me know how it goes after trying the steps above. I’m here to help further if needed.
