Hi lS,
Thanks for reaching out. I understand how frustrating it is when everything works perfectly on desktop but feels limited on mobile. The main reason is that Outlook for iOS doesn’t yet support switching aliases natively, even though this feature is available on desktop and web.
First, the most reliable approach is to confirm your alias is enabled in Outlook on the Web. Go to Settings → Mail → Compose and reply → Addresses to send from, and make sure your alias is checked. This step ensures the mobile app knows your alias exists.
Second, after enabling it, open the Outlook app on your iPhone and go to Settings → Account → Reset Account. This forces the app to refresh its settings from the server. When you compose a new email, tap the From field if the alias is supported for your account type, it should appear there.
Last, if the alias still doesn’t show, the current workaround is to use the iOS Mail app. You can set up your Outlook account as Exchange and adjust the email address to your alias in the account settings. Alternatively, some users add the alias as a separate account using IMAP, though this means extra setup and fewer features like calendar sync.
