Windows Scenic Ribbon markup compiler (IntentCL.exe)
The newly released Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1: BETA is available on the Microsoft Download Center with several new tools. SDK. Over the next couple of weeks I’ll write a short summary of what each tool can be used for.
The Windows Scenic Ribbon (Ribbon) markup compiler is a command-line tool called IntentCL.exe. The compiler generates a binary version of the Ribbon markup, an ID definition header file that exposes markup elements to the Ribbon host application, and a resource file that is used to link the binary markup to the host application at build time. Windows Scenic is a collection of Microsoft Win32 APIs that provide new user interface capabilities for Windows developers. These capabilities include the Ribbon and a new contextual user interface system. The Ribbon is a command bar that exposes the major features of an application through a series of tabs at the top of an application window.
