What is Azure Native Pure Storage Cloud?

Azure Native Pure Storage Cloud (refered to as Pure Storage Cloud from here on) is a jointly developed and managed enterprise-class cloud block storage service offered as an Azure Native Integration. Use Azure Native Integrations to easily provision, manage, and tightly integrate software and services from software development companies on Azure.

What is it used for?

Pure Storage Cloud is designed for organizations that require scalable, flexible, and high-performance block storage in the cloud.

Typical use cases include:

  • Running large-scale databases and analytics platforms that demand consistent performance and low latency
  • Providing persistent storage for virtual machines and containerized applications in enterprise and cloud-native environments via Azure VMware Solution (AVS)
  • Ensuring business continuity and rapid data recovery
  • Reducing cloud costs by decoupling compute and storage resources for independent scaling and efficient resource utilization

Key Features

The following key features are available for Pure Storage Cloud:

  • Elastic Capacity: Dynamically scale storage up or down to match workload requirements and pay only for what you use.
  • Flexible Performance: Independently scale performance and capacity to optimize for specific application needs.
  • Thin Provisioning: Allocate storage space efficiently, reducing wasted capacity, and improving utilization.
  • Instant Resizing: Adjust storage volumes without downtime or disruption to applications.
  • Snapshots: Create point-in-time copies of data for rapid recovery from data loss or corruption.
  • Compute and Storage Decoupling: Decoupling compute and storage resources for independent scaling and efficent resource utilization.
