MCT Annual Membership
The MCT Program is an annual membership. To maintain your MCT qualification and benefits, you must renew your membership each year prior to your expiration date. If your MCT status has expired, you will be required to reinstate your MCT status to rejoin the program.
You can find your MCT expiration date on the transcript of your Microsoft Learn profile in the “Microsoft Certified Trainer history” section.
MCT Renewal Requirements
To renew your membership, you must meet 3 requirements:
- Login to the MCT Portal and review and agree to the MCT Program Agreement.
- Maintain a valid, unexpired MCT-qualifying certification in your Microsoft Learn profile.
- Provide proof of at least one training delivery for the past year by either of the following:
- Please Note: Effective October 1, 2026, the renewal requirement will change. To renew your MCT status, you will need to complete 6 sessions or 6 training days within the renewal period. This update ensures that trainers maintain active engagement and continue delivering value to learners.
- Training delivery data in the Metrics That Matter (MTM) system associated with your Learn profile
MCT Reinstatement Requirements
If your MCT status expired or if you would like to upgrade from MCT Alumni to active MCT status, you will be required to reinstate your membership in the MCT Program. To reinstate your membership in the MCT Program you must:
- Have been an MCT in good standing, without any MCT Program, Microsoft Credentials Program, or MCT benefits programs bans.
- Review and agree to the MCT Program Agreement.
- Maintain an MCT-qualifying certification in your Microsoft Learn profile.
- If MCT status has been lapsed for more than 3 years, the candidate will be required to provide additional documentation showing proof of instructional skills.
Contact the MCT Program to reinstate your MCT status by emailing the program at mctprog@microsoft.com.
NOTE: Your certification must still be valid (not expired) to qualify for the MCT program. An expired certification will show in your MS Learn transcript as N/A with no future date.
