Business value

This feature gives customers two new schedule modes to choose from: Fixed duration/Effort driven, and Fixed units/Effort driven. These two schedule modes force effort to remain constant when extra resources are assigned (or removed) from a task in addition to keeping duration or units (depending on which mode is chosen) constant.

Feature details

Project for the web has three schedule modes: Fixed effort, Fixed duration, and Fixed units. All three schedule modes keep the specified field (effort, duration, or units) constant when you make changes that trigger a recalculation. This feature adds two schedule modes: Fixed duration/Effort driven and Fixed units/Effort driven. In these schedule modes, when you add or remove a resource from a task, the effort stays constant along with the duration or units, depending on the schedule mode you choose.
