version Element [Office 2003 SDK Documentation]

Specifies the version number for the manifest file and for files included with the XML expansion pack. This determines whether the XML expansion pack and supporting files that are installed on a user's computer need to be updated.

When specifying the value of the version element, use the format "major.minor". All other version formats are invalid.
