E-mail integration
Office SharePoint Server 2007 can be configured to send or receive e-mails. Enable sending outgoing e-mails for all Web applications.
Properly configuring outgoing e-mail is required for implementing e-mail alerts and alert results. The outgoing e-mail feature uses an outgoing Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) service to relay e-mail alerts and alert results. Office SharePoint Server 2007 will be configured to use the existing outgoing SMTP server named “relay.xxxxx.com” Outgoing e-mail support can be enabled at both the server farm level and Web application level.
