Feature details
Support for the Apache Parquet file format will be added to Power Query for Power BI Desktop. This will only be made available for 64-bit installations of Power BI Desktop. Parquet is a columnar file format that provides significantly faster performance compared to CSV, and supports typed and nested schemas.
