DLNA Requirements for Windows Embedded Compact 7

3/12/2014

The requirements described in this topic are necessary to use the UPnP networking architecture with Windows Embedded Compact 7:

  • The UPnP networking architecture used with Compact 7 does not support IPv6 addressing. Before Compact 7 can work with UPnP, you must configure the Compact 7 device to use IPv4 addressing. For information about configuring IPv4, see TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 Common Registry Settings.
  • If you replace the Compact 7 network stack with a custom implementation, the custom implementation must be compliant with DLNA.
  • Compact 7 DLNA implementation passes the DLNA 1.5 CTT tests for DMC, DMR, and DMP devices. However, building a DLNA device with Compact 7 does not make the device certified for DLNA 1.5. To achieve certification, the device manufacturer must test the product against the DLNA CTT 1.5 test suite, and follow the procedure outlined on the DLNA Certification website.

DLNA guidelines are available to DLNA members only. The guidelines are located in the DLNA Members Area on the DLNA Certification and Guidelines website.

To learn more about the DLNA 1.5 guidelines, visit the Members Area section on the www.dlna.org website.
