Introduction

Completed

In this exercise, you create an agent in Microsoft Copilot Studio by using the Store Operations Agent template from Microsoft for Retail. Frontline workers in Contoso Retail can use this agent to get answers to their questions about policies, inventory, orders, and refunds. To do so, you can add various knowledge sources to the agent.

Prerequisites

To complete this module, make sure that you meet the following prerequisites:

  • Microsoft Copilot Studio trial

  • Access to the retail Microsoft Power Platform environment

  • If you're adding a website as the knowledge source, consider the following issues:

    • If your site is external, make sure that it's indexed or found by Bing.

    • Don't use sites with forums or comments from users because it can reduce the relevancy of answers.

    • Don't include query strings, more than two levels of depth, or the double quotation mark (") character in your URL.

Personas and scenarios

In this exercise, you assume the persona of Reed Smith, who has the system administrator security role in the Microsoft Power Platform environment and the Teams Administrator role in Microsoft 365 admin center.

You create a Store Operations Agent in Copilot Studio. Then, you add the knowledge sources, such as .pdf files, and the Fabrikam website for store associates. Next, you test the agent that you created.

Your next task is to use retail team templates to create a team that you provide access to your agent in Microsoft Teams. Then, you add Monica Rodríguez to the team, which allows Monica access to the agent.
