Values

BacklightAutobrightnessBucketMapping

Defines a lookup table for keyboard backlight auto-brightness that maps ambient light reading ranges (in lux) to a percentage bucket.

The lookup table is a string of one or more triples separated by commas. Each triple is written in the format "X:Y:Z", where:

  • X is the minimum ambient light reading for the bucket. This value is measured in lux and must be expressed as a non-negative numeric value in integer or decimal form.
  • Y is the maximum ambient light reading for the bucket. This value is measured in lux and must be expressed as a non-negative numeric value in integer or decimal form.
  • Z is the percentage of maximum brightness that should be used while the ambient light reading falls within the range from X to Y. This value must be expressed as an integer in the range from 0 to 100.

All buckets must have contiguous or overlapping min-max ranges for the string to be considered valid. Overlapped buckets provide hysteresis that will help prevent fluctuations in keyboard backlight brightness when responding to small changes in ambient light levels. If two buckets partially overlap with one another, the brightness percentage of the currently used bucket will be retained until the ambient light level exceeds the bounds of the current bucket.

If the current ambient light reading falls below the minimum value of the lowest bucket, the brightness percentage of the lowest bucket will be used. If the current light reading exceeds the maximum value of the highest bucket, the brightness percentage of the highest bucket will be used.

An example of a valid string is as follows. "0:6:35,5:14:52,12:32:70,30:45:88,40:100:100,95:110:88,105:160:70,155:205:52,200:300:0"

If the EnableBucketedBacklightAutobrightness value is set to 0, this value is ignored.
