Keep getting Macfee and Norton pop-up's and I don't find them on my system. This has been going on for days, what can I do? Everything so far is talking about when you have it installed and how to get rid of it. I have Window 11.

If you're experiencing persistent pop-ups related to McAfee and Norton on your Windows 11 system, even though you don't have these programs installed, it could be due to unwanted software or adware. Here are some steps you can take to address this issue:

    1. Check for Unwanted Software: Some unwanted software can be introduced when downloading applications from the internet. Look for programs that you didn't install or that may be difficult to uninstall. You can check this in Settings > Apps > Apps & features and uninstall any suspicious applications.
    2. Remove Browser Add-ons: Sometimes, browser add-ons can cause pop-ups. Check your browser settings (in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) and remove any unfamiliar extensions or add-ons.
    3. Use Microsoft Defender Antivirus: Ensure that Microsoft Defender Antivirus is enabled on your system. It provides real-time protection against threats and can help detect and remove unwanted software. You can check this in Settings > Privacy & security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
    4. Run a Full Scan: Perform a full scan using Microsoft Defender to check for any malicious software that might be causing the pop-ups. This can be done through the Windows Security app.
    5. Update Your Browser: Make sure your web browser is up to date, as updates often include security improvements that can help block unwanted pop-ups.
    6. Use Microsoft Edge: If you are not already using it, consider switching to Microsoft Edge, which includes additional protections against unwanted software and pop-ups.
    7. Report Unsafe Sites: If you encounter unsafe sites that trigger pop-ups, you can report them directly to Microsoft through the browser's feedback option.

By following these steps, you should be able to reduce or eliminate the unwanted pop-ups related to McAfee and Norton.
