Thanks for sharing the details, He! It seems you just need to update your Windows 10, install all optional updates which may install missing raw formats.

Run Windows Update → Advanced options → Optional updates.

• Install everything under “Driver updates” and “Optional updates.”

Open Microsoft Store → Library → Get updates.

• Update all apps (including the Raw Image Extension and Photos).

Reboot and check if your RAW thumbnails and ratings appear.

Okay so it's something that's not in the Windows updates, neither optional updates. Try installing it directly like Adobe Bridge (Free).

This is the easiest and most reliable solution.

• Download Adobe Bridge (free) from adobe.com/bridge.
• Install it → open once → let it register its property handler.
• Restart Windows.

Then open File Explorer — you should now see:

RAW file thumbnails, and

star ratings (if stored in the .xmp sidecar or the RAW metadata).

Bridge installs AdobeXMP.dll and the Adobe Property Handler that Windows uses behind the scenes.
