Hi Guobin,
Good Day. I'm Jhun an independent advisor. In regards with your query, the green boxed style is not from Windows 11's default IME. It is the "Simplified Chinese - Microsoft Pinyin IME using the new UI that appears. To enable the candidate selection style, follow these steps below in Windows 11.
A. Open Windows Settings
- Settings > Time and Language > Language and Region
B. Choose your Chinese IME.
- Under Prefferred languages click:
Chinese (Simplified) > .... > Language Options - Select Microsoft Pinyin.
C. Open IME Settings
- Scroll down > Click "Microsoft Pinyin keyboard > Keyboard Options.
D. Enable "New experience" UI (candidate window style)
- In the Pinyin settings, look for:
"Candidate Window Appearance - Turn on the following:
Use new candidate windows
Inline candidate mode (if available)
Compact candidate window (optional)
This displays the modern style similar to your screenshot.
E. Restart the IME.
- Switch to Chinese input (Win+Space)
- Then type "w" to verify the new selection UI appears.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Jhun
