Autopilot Deployment Profile - keyboard layout incorrect

We have configured our Windows Autopilot Deployment Profile to be as follows: Language (Region) = English (United Kingdom) Automatically configure keyboard = Yes User's image

However, the keyboard layout is incorrect, being set to "English (United States)" which means the layout will be incorrect for any special characters in the password upon first logon on a Autopilot PC: User's image

How can we ensure we have "Region = English (United Kingdom)" together with "Keyboard = English (United Kingdom)" for our OOBE experience? Thanks, Steve

We experience the same, the basic autopilot profile is set to Danish and configure keyboard automatically. But the keyboard becomes US at first sign in..

That's a shame! I wonder if Microsoft is aware of the issue. I will probably create a case when I have time.

No, we didn't. Using the "workaround" where users have to choose region and keyboard layout. Would be interesting to hear something official from Microsoft about the issue.

I just stumbled over a reddit post where someone noted that it could be a problem with the Windows image on some Lenovo batches (we are experiencing it with Lenovo). The solution is to re-image the device....

Did you get this resolved? I am experiencing the exact same problem.
The Windows 11 is Danish (but with a preloaded Lenovo image where you choose between Danish, Norwegian, Swedish and English) but when Autopilot has finished the keyboard is US even though the deployment profile is set to "Automatically Configure Keyboard".

Just wanted to add to the "Reddit / Lenovo / re-image" discussion that we are seeing the same language issue on Dell and Surface as well as Lenovo and re-imagining doesn't help (from our side re-imagining would definitely not be considered a solution, as a matter of fact not even a workaround).

I just wanted to add that I created a MS case in November which was then closed in December. "An Incident has been created for it a little while ago and it's recognized as a bug. Our Microsoft engineers are actively working on a fix. In the meantime, a workaround has been provided to help mitigate the issue.

Please set 'Automatically configure keyboard' to No. Before selecting 'User Select' in the Language (Region) dropdown in order to allow the users to select the correct Region/Layout."

I'm planning on re-opening the case in March just to see if there's been any news regarding this. We're using HP devices and also experiencing the issue.

We are also experiencing the same wherein from the profile we have configured to "User select", however in the enrollment phase some users are reporting they are not getting the screen to select Language or Keyboard layout. I t was working fine before 1 or 2month, however now we are facing this issue, which is resulting in 9 different language layout in the system, and I was looking at your script to detect and remove other languages than EN-US, but in my situation it depends, since we have different countries who are using this method of enrollment.

So, any suggestion would be appreciated.

We have always had this issue in Finland, that Windows OS cannot configure Finnish layout properly. Previously I used registery keys for this several years, but recently I discovered more supported method I apply in user context:

Set-winhomelocation -GeoID "77" Set-Culture -CultureInfo "fi-FI" Set-TimeZone -Name 'FLE Standard Time' -PassThru
