When I log in, a window opens on my desktop with "Microsoft family features" in the heading, telling me to ask for permission to use "Windows Shell Experience". My account is the adult account in my family and there should not be any Microsoft family restrictions on my account. Why am I getting this window?

... New Windows Upgrade came and back to square one!..

Red Stone 5 (a.k.a Windows 10 v.1809) is scheduled for a release on the third Tuesday of October, 2018.

    Painful - isn't it.

I sent MS an ear full as they had a message on my Windows 10 asking me How likely I would recommend to a friend.  I told them to fix this damn issue and maybe I would consider it.  Enough MS!!!

This worked for me (clearing C:\Windows\System32\AppLocker folder). Thanks!!

Look here , but at the end:

    http://www.surfacetablethelp.com/2018/06/microsoft-family-ask-for-permission-to-use-shell-experience-and-chrome-in-windows-10.html

    * Start in safe mode* Find the AppLocker folder and go inside it. There are many files listing there. You need to select all of them and delete everything inside of it.

    * After you have cleared the directory, make a restarting to normal mode.
