Please HELP!! One of the MS Teams channels got deleted and I managed to restore it by finding it under deleted channels. It is shown on teams but when I click on the files tab it gives the error "404 FILE NOT FOUND" and I can't access it on Sharepoint and can't find its home page. The only way I can find it is through Documents of the Team itself and when I click on the file, same error "404 FILE NOT FOUND". The channel has VERY important documents and data for work and the files were not moved properly before the channel got deleted. I read that Microsoft saves the files for 92 days so I'm good I just need to figure out how to get them back!

    Dear hannah98kw,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with a channel you deleted and then restored however, you can't access it through SharePoint nor have access to the files. I would like to express my sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Could you please check to see if you can find the channel site under Deleted sites in the SharePoint Admin Center? To access it, you will require administrator rights or need to ask your Administrator to help perform these steps:

If you don’t find the channel site under Deleted sites, you can also check under Active sites and click on the site. After that, let me know if you managed to access the site or if you are getting any errors, and I will further assist you.

We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial suggestions may not resolve the problem very soon. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. If you are stuck anywhere or get an error while performing the above suggestions, you can provide me with screenshot. You add the screenshot using the forum word editor feature:

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

    Sincerely,

Ralph Chawatama | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Ralph Chawatama,

I am having the exact same issue hannah98kw has. I have a user deleted a channel in their MS Teams team and then restored it after 2 days. the channel name shows up under the team but clicking on the file tab runs in to 404- file not found. We cannot see anything under the SharePoint end of it either.

Your suggested solution is to restore a whole team/site but does not work for a channel; even so, we restored the channel but files are not showing up.

    Dear Bobby Saket,

    Good day!

The similar issues may have different root causes, so I suggest you post a new thread so that we can involve more resources with more confirmation on the new thread and provide the corresponding suggestions.
