Trying to update my Windows. I had a few updates pending so I decided to update the system, everything installed perfectly except KB5066791 Security update. I have tried different ways to install the update but nothing works. I have tried safe mode install. manual install nothing works. Those 2 error codes are the most common 0x80071a2d 0x800f0923. Please help!

In my case I solved this problem by simply setting the 'system reserved partition' to active. The update then worked to the end with no problems. My setup is a Linux/Windows dual boot and, for some unknown reason, the SRP had lost its active status, which caused the error (and subsequent rollback) in Windows Update. Note that this didn't prevent, though, Windows from booting as the BIOS loads GRUB (boot manager) to trigger the boot sequence (OS selection menu etc) in my dual-boot setup. However, WRE stopped to function, too, until I set the partition to active.

I alos am having this issue with the update not installing....
Tried many 'solutions'.... No joy,.
This one also did not complete the installation.
So, still looking.
