Video Captures (wdcapturesession.exe)

wdcapturesession is a PC command-line tool used for recording live video captures during game tests. It uses H264/HEVC encoding at 30fps to start and stop captures of your game on your PC.

Prerequisites

-NET 8.0 runtime or later

-Windows 10 or later with support for Windows Graphics Capture.

Usage

The wdcapturesession tool supports the following command-line arguments:

wdcapturesession start Starts video capture
wdcapturesession stop Stops video capture
wdcapturesession status Shows the current video capture state
wdcapturesession list-displays Lists all monitor indexes

wdcapturesession start

Starts a video capture session.

wdcapturesession start [/f:<filepath>] [/d:max-duration] [/m:monitor]

Option Description
/f Directory of the specified output file
/d Specifies the maximum number of seconds for the recording.
/m Specifies the monitor index to capture. If none is selected, will use default

wdcapturesession stop

Stops a video capture session and completes writing the file to the resulting mp4 file. This operation will fail if no capture is in progress.
