iPad won’t print a MS Word file after uninstalling app and restarting the device. Please advise. Thank you

Seems to be a problem with Word. Printing used to work from Word but is not working now. I have multiple iOS devices. I updated iOS to the latest version and did a new Word install on one of them. Other apps print without issue.
When print is selected from Word, the screen closes and returns to the document (does not open the print options screen). To work around this, I had to install a printer specific app and go through the share menu (share, then select the printer app).

Our school staff iPads are having the same issue since 18/11/2025. I am IT support for our school. I have logged a support ticket for this issue.

Looks like same issue here. When hitting print in Word, no print dialog shows.
If I try from "Notes og Pages" print dialog shows and print works.

I had the older version on one of my phones and it worked perfectly until it updated to the latest version. Which they produced for (bug fixes) i wish they would just leave it alone.

Same issue. When I select print in word, nothing happens. Printing works fine from other apps.

Same for me. It’s not allowing me to print from either my IPad or IPhone. I wish they’d just stop messing about with it! So frustrating.

We have the same issue here at the school. Our issue only happens in Word and PowerPoint. Printing works in Excel.

Yes I am having the same issue. I reinstalled all apps, software updated and ever since latest update I can no longer print from ms word. it just closes out with no prompt.
MS Word developer team doesn’t care much about the issue. In the past MS quality control and customer service were real and efficient. While nowadays the expectation that AI is able to solve everything is completely wrong. The result is epic sloppiness.

Printing also works fine using the web app version of word not ideal but less steps than having to export word documents to a pdf which works okay until microsoft releases a fix
A new version of the Word app for iOS devices has just been released and now the print feature works fine

I just figured it out: the Options Menu was changed on the iPad version, but not the iPhone version.

The missing Files Options are accessed by clicking the file name, which is almost to the far left of the menu ribbon. The clue that I hadn’t noticed when they changed the menu structure is a down arrow to the right of the file name.
The only thing more annoying than gratuitous changes in menu structure is inconsistent structure between platforms.
