Thanks for being so patient with me.

The upgrade failing at 56% indicates a persistent system corruption or hardware-level conflict that repair tools cannot fully resolve, likely due to compromised core components or driver instability. Since in-place upgrades and repairs have been exhausted, a clean installation is the only reliable method to eliminate these issues. Your Windows 10 digital license is embedded in the hardware or linked to your Microsoft account. During a clean installation of Windows 11 from USB media, skip entering a product key when prompted. After installation, Windows will automatically activate using the existing license, as both versions share the same activation database for eligible devices.

Before proceeding, back up all personal data to an external drive, as the clean install will erase everything on the system drive. Boot from the USB media, delete all partitions on the target drive during setup to ensure a pristine installation, and then allow Windows 11 to install on the unallocated space. This approach bypasses any residual corruption and establishes a stable system.

Hope you've found something useful here, and kindly accept the answer if it helps you solve the issue to some extent. Thank you!!

If you're having trouble completing the update to Windows 11 after downloading, here are some steps you can try:

    1. Check for Errors: Make sure there are no error messages appearing during the update process. If you see any error codes, look them up for specific troubleshooting steps.
    2. Free Up Storage Space: Ensure that you have enough storage space available on your device. You can delete temporary files and unused applications to free up space.
    3. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter Again: Sometimes running the troubleshooter multiple times can help resolve issues. You can find it in Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
    4. Use the Installation Assistant: If the update is still not proceeding, consider using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant. You can download it from Microsoft's website and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade.
    5. Check Windows Update Status: Ensure that your Windows 10 is fully updated before attempting to upgrade to Windows 11. You can check for updates in Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    6. Consider ISO Installation: If all else fails, you can download the Windows 11 ISO file and create a bootable USB drive to perform the installation manually.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consult the Microsoft support page for further assistance.

Good morning Mirco Pari @ Lucchi [UT],

Before trying the steps suggested by the AI's answer, I'd like to provide you with an explanation of your issue. The update failure means a blocked installation due to unmet Windows 11 hardware requirements or corrupted update components. to fix this, you need to verify your device meets the prerequisites or not: TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, and sufficient RAM/storage. Use the PC Health Check app from Microsoft to confirm eligibility. If compliant, bypass the standard update by downloading the Windows 11 Installation Assistant directly from Microsoft's website and executing it with administrative privileges. This tool forces the upgrade and circumvents common hang points in the Windows Update process.

I hope you are clear with the information. Should you have any more questions, feel free to leave a message. It's really appreciated of you to accept the answer to help build the community by sharing your experience with the issue. Thanks!
